Since 2012, through employee volunteering activities, Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities has collaborated with Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities to support efforts to restore the coastal forests at Kujukurihama Beach (Sammu City, Chiba Prefecture), where trees suffered salt damage from the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The MUFG Group works together with National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan to replant flower beds in elementary and junior high schools in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures, where damage from the tsunami and earthquake was particularly severe.
Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities conducted volunteer activities in coastal areas affected by the tsunami and earthquake from June to November in 2011, through an NPO in Tono City, Iwate Prefecture. Since November 2013, the company has participated in the disaster area restoration assistance volunteer program sponsored by Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS.
Support activities have been provided through employee donations and relief supplies collections immediately following the earthquake, as well as through activities addressing intangible aspects such as emotional support.
