Tree Planting Activities in the Areas Surrounding the World Heritage Site Shirakami-Sanchi in the “Save Our Common Treasures of the Earth” Project

Overview of Activities

In collaboration with the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan, the MUFG Group conducts the “Save Our Common Treasures of the Earth” project, which aims to pass on the common heritage of mankind into the future generations.
This project in the areas surrounding the World Heritage site Shirakami-Sanchi has consisted of two phases: tree planting activities conducted over a five-year period from FY 2008 to FY 2012 in which 100,000 seedlings were planted and tree growing activities since FY 2013 for the seedlings that had been planted up to that time.
